Who is Stacey?
My journey with art
I've been creating ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil. My obsession with art has certainly had its ebbs and flows, but art and creativity has always been a part of my life. In primary school, I was the kid you went to when you wanted a cool bubble writing header for your work book. In high school I started using permanent markets to decorate anything I could get my hands on, including my friends. I developed a keen interest in tattoo art during this time and was certain I was going to become a famous tattoo artist. After high school, I spent 18 months undertaking an Illustration course in Melbourne where I learned so much about the creative arts industry. As I continued to hone my technical skills, I pivoted back around to traditional art such as painting and drawing. I took on a corporate desk job which did wonders for my "starving artist" bank account but really put a drain on my creative brain. I had my son in 2019 and after 12 months of being a stay-at-home mum, I was yearning for more. Since returning to work part time I have rekindled my love of art and making, now leaning into graphic and digital design. This, in combination with my home cutting machine, has allowed me to start creating all kinds of wonderful things. I am absolutely loving how much joy I can bring to people by making their ideas come to life. Will this be my creative outlet for the rest of my life? Only time will tell.
